Prop analysis is important when it comes to music video becaseu they help to show the story deleopment and allow lyric meaning to be shown more clrearly.
Singer songwriters have a very specific convention that most artitst follow and that is to minimise the use of props in music videos to allow audience to be more focused on lyrics and story.
In most of ed sheeran's music videos the props are kept to minimum which is great example of singer songwriters following its conventions.
The first prop that we see in this music video is the white feather stained with blood that she pulls out her back. This could represent her being inoccent but slowly being tainted by bad thoughts about what happend to her or betrail. Color red usally rerpesents pain and death.
Second prop is the arrow she is making. Which links to her holding 2 wooden people. This could represent her feeling and how she wants to be real life cupid and brake/make relationships. These props are kept very simple to allow audience to be more focused to the lyrics and story.
